Josh Jackson
Indianapolis Compass Branch Owner
“Working with Compass is by far the best experience I’ve ever had in the insurance industry. Their commission structure is great, and the support staff goes above and beyond to help my book of business and help me succeed.”
Living the Meaning of Success
Indianapolis native Josh Jackson, along with his wife Cathy and his 4-year-old son, are expecting another son to arrive in July 2023. Along with the new addition to the family, Josh is also expecting to grow a premium stable book of business of three to five million over the next five years and to about double that over the next ten years for his Compass branch. He’s already well on his way.In his spare time, Josh enjoys weightlifting and visits Florida beaches. With a new son on the way, he’ll be doing a different kind of heavy lifting. Best of all, being a Compass branch is helping him do that.
Former Captive Agent Enjoying His New Found Freedom
While this is Josh’s first time owning a book of business, he has been in the insurance industry since 2016. He was previously a captive agent with Indiana Farm Bureau and a sales manager for a State Farm office. As a captive agent, he was not able to own the book of business that he created and sold.Josh puts in about 30 to 40 hours a week, following leads from the Internet and referrals, as well as buying about six leads daily. “I’m currently on track to hit a stable one million premium with an 80% retention rate. With steady renewals coming in, I expect to hit a 2024 revenue goal of $125,000.”
The option to work from home with low start-up cost requirements and book ownership is what drew me to Compass,” Josh explains. “As long as I’m in the insurance industry, this is where I’m going to stay as a career. The advantages are several. I own my own business. I have a flexible work/life balance. I get to work with multiple carriers. There’s unlimited growth potential. And I get to people with a product/service that directly impacts the quality of their lives. What’s not to love?
